API Americas, brand enhancement specialists and manufacturer of laminates, foils, and holographics for food, tobacco, health, clothing, cosmetics, household care and other industries, recently announced the company has invested $9 million to expand and update its Lawrence, Kansas manufacturing facility.
API closed and sold the company’s Rahway, NJ site and transferred machinery and production from the location to the Lawrence site. News reports indicate API has expanded the Kansas facility by 20,000 square feet and purchased a holographic embossing machine, custom-built coater and other machinery in an effort to better serve its 800-strong customer base with cutting-edge films and decorative foils. API has also opened a new Levittown, PA sales and distribution center to serve customers on the East Coast.
API Americas General Manager and Business Unit President Michael Frederick said of the investment, “As we witness a growth in our U.S. operations, we have invested in our infrastructure and customer support to ensure that we can continue to meet customer demand.” API Group CEO Dino Kiriakopoulos commended the team at the now closed Rahway facility recognizing employees for their role in the company’s growth and the effort, dedication and support given the NJ facility over four decades.
API provides packaging solutions that help companies across many industries empower their brands by enhancing consumer goods and printed media with laminates, foils and holographic materials that differentiate products and make a lasting impression.
