Because of our position in the industrial coding and marking equipment industry, REA JET is always interested in measures companies take to reduce waste that could negatively impact the environment. Recently in packaging news, we came across an article at Packaging World regarding Vogue International, a hair care product company and maker of OGX products, who recently switched over to extra-thin labels, reducing the OGX brand’s environmental impact by 26% to 34% across several categories including energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, water use, and fossil material.
Vogue Intl. switched to a semi-conformable, extra-thin clear film, the Avery Dennison Global MDO ™, from the pressure-sensitive labels the company had been using. Vogue collaborated with Avery Dennison and WS Packaging Group in the effort to reduce the company’s environmental impact.
According to Vogue International Marketing and Product Development Manager, Jamie Kontz, the company is committed to increasing transparency and reducing environmental impact while maintaining the company’s commitment to sustainable practices. Kontz encourages Vogue’s business associates and suppliers to increase their efforts in commercially sound practices that can make a positive impact on future generations.
More and more manufacturers are committed to reducing waste and conserving water, energy, and other natural resources today. Because of the constant changes in packaging and labeling, industrial printing equipment suppliers must keep up with these changes in order to provide effective, reliable marking solutions for marking and coding of nutrition labels, ingredient lists, and other data provided for consumers.
At REA JET, we are committed to providing cost-effective coding and marking solutions to a wide array of industries. Trust our company for solutions to your biggest challenges.
