Recently it was revealed in a news release that Cumberland, MD based FOSRx (Factor One Source Pharmacy) would acquire F.A.S.T. (Fast Access Specialty Therapeutics) based in Metairie, LA through a combination of cash and stock. FOSRx, or Factor Once Source Pharmacy serves patients across the U.S., providing specialty prescriptions for those requiring specialized management of medications for chronic medical conditions. F.A.S.T. is also a specialty pharmacy focused on servicing patients in specific areas including oncology, rheumatology, osteoporosis, hematology, addiction recovery, and dermatology, delivering medications to hospitals, infusion centers, doctors’ offices, the patient’s home, and more.
While Fast Access Specialty Therapeutics will operate under the FOSRx umbrella, the company will retain its brand and once the acquisition is complete, add “Powered by Factor One Source Pharmacy” to its name. It is anticipated the two companies will generate revenue of about $156 million in 2017.
Due in part to the company’s commitment to quality and focus on the patient, F.A.S.T. has experienced tremendous growth over the past seven years according to reports, and employs a team of 42. Now that FOSRx has acquired F.A.S.T. the specialty pharmacy will have locations in Louisiana, Maryland, and Tennessee and intends to continue expanding its operations to the West Coast.
CEO at FOSRx, Sajal Roy, will become CEO of F.A.S.T. as well. Roy, PharmD, CACP, CSP, CPSO, and CGP to FOSRx, said that in teaming with F.A.S.T. the growth of the Factor One Source brand would be accelerated as the pharmacy seeks to empower every patient it serves to live healthy, fulfilled lives.
F.A.S.T. Chief Executive Officer, Adam Myers, said upon the announcement of the acquisition, “Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for F.A.S.T., one which we believe will deliver significant value to our patients and partners.” FOSRx believes the company is a strong fit which will help further FOSRx’s strategic focus on immunology, bleeding disorders, and hemophilia.
