Nancy Warner, CEO at Assurpack LLC with more than 30 years of packaging experience and expertise in child resistant packaging, recently began a packaging firm dedicated to providing cannabis-infused product manufacturers with packaging solutions. Having worked in the pharmaceutical industry after attending Michigan State, where she earned a B.S. degree in Package Engineering, Warner became interested in packaging solutions for the cannabis industry while visiting Colorado three years ago.
News reports claim that pharmaceutical companies are now becoming interested in Warner’s custom packaging solutions. Assurpack LLC began when Warner made the decision to provide the cannabis industry with a patented child-resistant blister card. While the company offers child-resistant packaging that goes beyond bottles and bags, it also provides packaging machinery. Assurpack is developing special packaging for pre-filled oil cartridges, silicone lined reclosable boxes for extracts, and other packaging solutions designed for the cannabis industry.
Assurpack offers pouches, spray bottles, blister packaging, paper and plastic reclosable boxes and other child resistant packaging that is CPSC and ASTM compliant, and custom designed for brands.
With medical marijuana approved by 28 states and the recreational use of cannabis legal in eight states and D.C. there is no doubt the interest in packaging will grow exponentially; however, the pharmaceutical industry’s interest is a bit ironic.
