Cannabis & Beer. Coding & Marking. Are You Prepared?

MLT CreativeIndustries

The future of beer is changing. More and more brewers are experimenting with cannabis and CBD in an effort to provide customers with a uniquely, hop-heavy taste experience.

The New Brewer reports, “Lagunitas (fully owned by Heineken) HiFi Hops is reportedly the first foray by one of the world’s largest brewers into the marijuana-related market…In 2018, two Lagunitas-branded non-alcoholic products called HiFi Hops appeared in California dispensaries containing THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive compound in marijuana.

Constellation Brands, which owns Corona, Ballast Point and other brands, has also jumped in by investing in a Canadian cannabis company…Dad & Dudes Breweria of Aurora, Colorado produced a beer called General Washington’s Secret Stash, a nod to the cultivation of hemp by our nation’s first president, a beer that contained no THC but did carry CBD.”

Even “Atlanta’s SweetWater Brewing has taken the mimicry approach to nudging to the extreme, boosting its already illicit-sounding 420 series of beers (it was they, in fact, who prevented Lagunitas from assuming the 420 brand-mantle) into the stratosphere of innuendo by lacing together not just particularly dank hops but specific terpenes in an aromatic combination flat-out stated to be reminiscent of “opening a fresh bag of marijuana.” The beer is called G13, after a specific strain of cannabis.”

Over time, industries change and grow by experimenting with new ideas. Like brewing ingredients, your coding and marking needs evolve too. As a leading provider of coding and marking systems, REA JET understands the ever-changing regulatory challenges of both the cannabis and beer industries and adapts. We offer custom solutions to fit your traceability needs. Our high resolution coding and marking systems quickly and effectively mark 2D codes, lot and batch codes, variable data and more, ensuring packaging compliance.

Brew your best—we’ll handle the coding and marking fine print. Contact us today to learn more about our automated, high resolution coding and marking technology for the cannabis, beer and cannabis-beer industry.
