Muehltal, August 21st 2018 – In consideration of extensive legal requirements and increasing expectations of retailers and customers, the demand for coding and marking of products and packaging is growing in all industry sectors. The efficient implementation of product coding for the complete traceability of goods is gaining importance in terms of competitiveness for manufacturers and retailers. At the FachPack REA is presenting coding and marking solutions based on ink and laser (REA JET), labeling technology systems (REA LABEL) and verification systems for machine-readable codes (REA VERIFIER).
Equipped with state-of-the-art interfaces all systems are considered to be suitable for Industry 4.0. With the REA JET TITAN Platform – a single operating concept for all REA JET technologies – REA is presenting indeed the most modern device control technology on the market. Further to that REA will also be presenting the generation 2.0 of their DOD Large Character systems, Hi-Res as well as Small Character CIJ.
The Hessian full-range supplier REA Elektronik has analysed the challenges and requirements of packaging machine manufacturers and globally active industrial companies with a wide variety of coding and packaging tasks and has aligned the further development of REA systems accordingly. The results are innovations and future-proof solutions in the field of coding and marking for the products and packaging.
Turnkey solutions from the area of printing and verification in one process are a currently a hotly debated topic in many industries. REA JET presents a solution for this and demonstrates manufacturer-independent compatibility.
At the FachPack REA will be presenting many new products as well as further developed products such as an upgrade of the REA JET TITAN Platform, the trend-setting operating concept for all REA JET technologies. The uniform operating concept is continuously developed further. It now supports further REA JET marking systems, such as the DOD 2.0 large character inkjet printer, the new CIJ SC 2.0 small character inkjet printer and ST spray mark technology systems. Once the operating logic for a REA JET product is learned and understood, other technologies can also be operated without further training. In addition to cost and time savings, the risk of human error is reduced significantly. Another advantage is the multitude of supported operating procedures. The user has the free choice.
In the field of inkjet systems REA presents the latest generation of its large character inkjet printer systems REA JET DOD 2.0. The previous speed potential has been doubled to 600 m/min. The durability of the print heads has been significantly increased by using the most modern high-tech materials in production. The new REA JET SC 2.0 CIJ printer is probably the most compact device in its class. With a resolution of up to 48 pixels, logos and multi-line texts can be printed in excellent quality. Particularly good marking results are achieved on smooth surfaces with extremely short drying times.
Also presented at the show are advanced laser systems from REA JET CL line and TIJ technology systems from REA JET HR product family. Both technologies provide an economical alternative to many continuous inkjet printers when a clean, an eco-friendly and a solvent-free coding and marking is required.
REA LABEL introduces a new pallet labeling unit with increased performance and improved flexibility thanks to modular configuration. The new REA LABEL Color JET-D prints and dispenses full-color labels which are resistant to water and alcohol. Labels are no longer produced in stock but created on demand. Print content can be variably adapted at any time for example when different products are packed at the same line. The processing of labels up to A4 letter size and a resolution of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi is possible.
A REA LABEL print and apply system will be presented at the booth of our cooperation partner Kawasaki (hall 3, booth 3-113) as part of an automated labeling solution which is marketed under the name K-Label. A space-saving and most flexible robot based solution for many labeling applications.
To ensure that codes in production, trade and logistics can be read automatically, quickly and accurately, the quality of the codes is a decisive factor. REA VERIFIER will be presenting mobile and stationary optical verification equipment for the standards-based qualification of printed and lasered codes. Newly introduced is the REA VeriMax. A very compact verification device for 1D/2D codes designed to be fully integrated into machines and systems. A quite interesting solution for machine builders and integrators. For code verification on three-dimensional products of different shapes and sizes, a flexible tripod solution is presented. Ideal for verification of 1D and 2D codes on products that are directly marked (DPM).
Another REA innovation is a biological cleaner. REA is introducing an environmentally friendly universal cleaner REA JET BC-1 400 for the liquefaction and removal of dried inks, primers and paints. The non-flammable, water-based Bio Cleaner sets new standards since it contains no aggressive solvents and is harmless to the user’s health which also considerably reduces the amount of storage security required.
The REA systems presented at the FachPack can be flexibly integrated into existing infrastructures and use state-of-the-art interfaces for data communication with production computers for example. They are prepared for communicating with other autonomous systems and are fit for Industry 4.0.
