As Pharma Expo 2016 & Pack Expo grows nearer, show producer PMMI predicts it will be the largest ever, and even a record breaker with projections that some 50,000 attendees will be present over the course of the show. No doubt that with more than 1.2 million net square feet of exhibit space and 2,500+ exhibitors, including REA JET, those who attend will walk away with substantial knowledge gained in new technologies and insights.
One reason PMMI anticipates an increased number of attendees will be participating in the show is its latest projections for the packaging machinery industry, which it outlines in the PMMI 2016 State of the Industry Report. This report forecasts that over the next four years (by 2020), U.S. shipments of packaging machinery will reach $8.5 billion.
Senior VP of PMMI, Jim Pittas, said that not only are plant expansions fueling the growth in packaging, but also the need of many manufacturers to update their operations so that they’re flexible, faster, safer, smarter, and more sustainable. Pittas believes that an increased number of business professionals from a wide array of industries will attend Pharma Expo/Pack Expo 2016 because they’re confident of the new technologies they will be exposed to on the platform; critical in a time when innovation is languishing.
